My Darling,
We had a good visit with John and Mildred and I was surprised to see the wonderful improvement in John’s condition. He seems like himself. Mildred seems pretty well.
Must not write much about business for there hasn’t been any such thing for these. Two days. Have

worked in four or five little towns today and not a look in. It’s no time to get discouraged. Things will be better some day, I hope.
Expect to spend all of tomorrow here and at one or two small towns just out of here like Homer, MoGaw, etc. It’s hard to plan where I want to go. Think I better go to Ithaca, Clinton House for Thursday and Friday. May Sunday in Elmira but can’t say for sure. Hate to be out for weekend but don’t know what else to do. Don’t feel like spending unnecessary money in travelling when business is as it is now.
Hope to hear from you tomorrow sure. Much love to each,
Your affectionate,
John

Editor's notes
If you're new to this project, please consider going to our site and catching up with a few letters from the 1900-1910 era. The letters only take 3-5 minutes to read and you'll find the characters more fully develop if you read the letters chronologically.
John has excellent handwriting. However, in some instances, I cant decipher it. If I can't, I simply mark the spot with "xxx"s to signify thank the word isn't decipherable.
