My Sweetheart,

I didn't get here until 6:30 tonight. Was hungry for a little message from you. I got one all right and it was so little I could hardly find it. Have not felt good today, or yesterday, or day before or tomorrow! I have a cold and my back seems broke and my head is weak as usual. Guess I would have been ahead of game had I stayed at home. It's rotten to feel so snxxx And no, there's no excuse for failure to get business.

What do you think about the letter from Mr. Hill? He seems to be a good, honest fellow and I

presume he would pay, but I don't know a thing about him and I don't want to get notes from a fellow who can't pay. Lloyd thinks he's quite a man. It was in hopes to get pretty nearly a cash sale from my stock. I know I have appreciated credit and I want to do right by any young progressive farmer who is honest.

Have two small orders today for $24 and $28. That's rotten and you know it! Mr. Hastings thinks that we use good judgment in shipping cows on Friday, and he thinks that the same amount of help we have had at home will take care of stock at sale. We surely don't want to waste any money. We'll feel greatly relieved when the thing is closed up.

I had a long visit with Guiley Storres at Thion today (dead boys prayers, did you say?) He said he saw John last Sunday and that he never saw such a change in a man in all his life. He says he's looking fine, talks all right and walks steady. He expects him in Thion for Sunday. It might not be out of place for us to ask him down to see us.

Hope you are all well and happy.

Love to each,

John
